Suggestions On How Your Loved Ones Can Keep Away From Crime
By Sasha O Urech
They claim that having a baby changes your daily life. It is correct in a lot of ways. As a father, I now make very different choices from the ones which I previously used to make. In everything I do, I constantly think of the baby first.
In consideration of the wellbeing as well as security of my child, I have likewise done a lot of changes. Of these many changes is my own choice of personal protection. I switched from a pepper spray to a steel baton immediately after becoming a dad.
Now, don't get me wrong. My trust in the protective ability of my own pepper spray has not changed one bit. My self-defense tool even has all sorts of safety measures to keep it from going off by accident. But, I now carry a baby around most of the time. So, I simply wished to become extra careful.
I ran across steel batons while searching for alternative self-defense devices as well as gadgets. The long-range capability of extendable batons was what caught my interest.
Such self-defense tools, that provide added reach, lessen the possibility of damage for the would-be victim. This would work perfectly for me given that I could never afford to get near to the enemy with my kid along.
With just a flick of the wrist, my particular retractable baton made with solid steel will stretch out about 16 inches. Plus, it has an easy-to-grip rubber handle for ease and comfort of use.
Each time I go out with my baby, I make it a point to have my self-defense baton. I normally have this tactical baton secured in the nylon holster that came with the package.
Rather than putting away the pepper spray that became replaced by the new steel baton, I gave the former to my younger sister instead. She was going off to college and, because of this, she would need that spray device as a personal means of defense against crime.
