The latest Google changes and SEO
By Ian Russell
Several months ago I noticed a quote from Google saying they were looking to "level the playing field" with regards for the search engine ranking. I consider that to imply that the modest guy attempting to rank his site must stand as significantly possibility because the huge corporation that may afford to devote hundreds or a large number of pounds on hiring Search engine optimization organizations.
Following this, there seems to have been 2 or 3 changes each and every month that have been pretty major. I am sure you have heard of Panda and Penguin if you have anything to do with websites. So here are a few things we've found out from reviewing client rankings and from our own experiments.
Duplicate content is killing sites. For those who have taken your replicate from other web sites then it isn't distinctive for you. Picture this. You are a teacher and set two kids homework. A single of them arrives inside the subsequent day and it has simply photocopied from a guide. The 2nd youngster has published out his homework, referenced his resources and formulated his personal tips depending on his research. He has included graphs and diagrams to make different factors. Who deserves a lot more marks?
On the flip side to duplicate content, we are seeing sites rise if they have good unique content on them, and especially if they are updated regularly. I believe that the time of the blog is really upon as a tool to add fresh, relevant copy to websites. Social signals - once upon a time not so long ago links were the most powerful way of rankings a website. You could rank a blank page purely by building backlinks to the website. The problem with this method of deciding where to rank a website is that you could hire an SEO company to build those links, use some software to do it or take part in a link building swapping scheme. Social signals - simply put people talking about you and your website are becoming the new links! They are harder to fake and therefore a safer bet - they are harder to achieve to as it is more time consuming to do.
An excessive amount of, also little too soon - generally something that is not typical. When you have too many backlinks also rapidly, you may see a drop in rankings. For those who have also many backlinks coming in from a single source, then its unnatural looking and you could see a drop. Also a lot of hyperlinks on sidebars in webpages - you might be in difficulty!
I feel Google are operating on percentages. In case you didn't have any hyperlinks coming in from blogs - that may look a bit weird, especially if people are talking about you on social media marketing. But if 90% of one's hyperlinks arrived in from weblogs, then that's unnatural too. So what exactly is protected? I do not know, but I do know I'm undertaking every little thing in moderation now and looking a lot more for your long term than looking to get a rapid obtain. SEO is acquiring tougher - there is no question about it, but our consumer in Milton Keynes are continuing to find out great benefits simply because we go the added mile to get ourselves educated about all of this stuff and current adjustments to make sure we are always one step in advance.
